Today is the day that Samsung finally reveals the Galaxy S21 in its entirety But what would a release date mean without one last leak?
This one comes from serial leaker Evan Blass, who posted a series of images detailing the main specs and selling points of the Galaxy S21 series From pre-order extras to the chipset we knew was coming
We've already heard about most of these features, but Blass' images confirm that everything we've heard so far wasn't complete nonsense: those who pre-order the Ultra will receive a free Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy Buds to the speculation that the company will be offering a free Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy Buds to those who pre-order the Ultra
Let's start with the Galaxy S21 Ultra
According to a leak from Blass, the Galaxy S21 Ultra features a 68-inch Infinity O display with a 120Hz refresh rate and WQHD+ resolution It appears to be covered with Gorilla Glass Victus and will feature a four-lens rear camera on both sides
This camera setup includes a 108MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, laser time-of-flight autofocus, and two 10MP telephoto lenses The last two lenses provide 3x and 10x optical zoom, for a total magnification of up to 100x
Blass images also confirm that the S21 Ultra will be compatible with the S Pen, have a 5,000 mAh battery, support 8K video recording, and use a 40MP hole-punch front camera The leaker also points out that the S21 Ultra will feature up to 512 GB of storage, 12 or 16 GB of RAM, UWB tracking, and an Exynos 2100 chipset Of course, we already know that the US version of the phone will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 instead
Interestingly, fast charging is only limited to 25W, not 65W as previously speculated This is unfortunate, as it is considerably slower than many other phones, including the Galaxy S20 Wireless charging remains at 15W, and wireless power-sharing is still alive and well
The standard Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus have 62-inch and 67-inch displays, respectively, with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rates Both have triple-lens rear cameras with a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens On the front is a 10MP hole-punch camera
Like the S21 Ultra, it runs on an Exynos 2100 outside the US and a Snapdragon 888 in the US Fast charging is up to 25W and wireless charging is up to 15W Both models have 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space
Differences between the two also include battery size, with the S21 Plus offering 4,800 mAh capacity, while the standard S21 is only 4,000 mAh the back of the S21 is polycarbonate "glastic," while the back of the S21 Plus is glass, like the Ultra The Plus also has UWB tracking, while the regular S21 does not Neither supports the S Pen
According to a Blass leak, the S21 and S21 Plus come with Galaxy Buds Live and SmartTag, while the Ultra comes with SmartTag and Galaxy Buds Pro
As Apple did with the iPhone 12, no charger or extra accessories will be bundled with any of the models Instead, a phone, USB-C cable, and SIM extraction pin will be included All of this is for the environment and has nothing to do with profit margins
Blass has a thread tweeting the new information Meanwhile, the Galaxy Unpacked launch event is scheduled to begin today at 10 am ET You can watch it all unfold live, or follow along on our live blog
