OnePlus is very late to the wireless charging game and has only released one wireless charging phone in its history (the OnePlus 8 Pro) The good news is that wireless charging is making a comeback with the OnePlus 9, and with multiple devices
According to leaker Max Jambor, both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will feature wireless charging However, details are not yet known
According to Jambor, the OnePlus 9 Pro will feature 45W wireless charging, a significant improvement over the OnePlus 8 Pro's 30W speed It will also offer reverse wireless charging, but as is usually the case, its speed will be much slower
The OnePlus 9 will also feature wireless charging, but Jambor has no details on specs or additional features; the same 45W wireless charging as the Pro may seem like an obvious choice, but past rumors suggest that it will offer a slower 30W speed instead has been suggested
While a 45W on both models may seem more prudent, a slower speed on the standard OnePlus 9 would satisfy wireless charging fans and also provide an extra incentive to purchase the Pro model [The iPhone 12, Google Pixel 5, and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE are examples; OnePlus finally relented last year with the 8 Pro, but wireless charging was suspiciously absent from the OnePlus 8T released later that year
Therefore, it would not be unexpected if OnePlus staggered the speed of wireless charging offered in the OnePlus 9 series In particular, there are rumors that a third phone, the OnePlus 9 Lite, will be launched at the same time; since the OnePlus 9 Lite is less expensive, it is possible that it will skip wireless charging altogether to keep the price down
The OnePlus 9 is currently expected to launch in mid-March and, based on leaked prototypes, is expected to look similar to the OnePlus 8T It will include a triple-lens camera system including a 48MP main lens and an ultra-wide lens, a front-facing hole-punch camera, and a 65-inch display; the OnePlus 9 Pro will reportedly feature a quad rear camera array and a 67-inch display
Both models are also expected to feature 120Hz displays, Qualcomm's latest chipset Snapdragon 888, and the usual tweaks and optimizations from OnePlus' OxygenOS We can also expect faster wired charging, at least comparable to the OnePlus 8T's 65W speed
