PS5 may not support this beloved PS4 game — but there is a workaround

When you finally get your PS5 next month, you might be tempted to play PT, one of the scariest game demos that ever existed Unfortunately, however, the Silent Hills playable teaser will not be available for re-download on the upcoming console

This is according to no less a source than Konami However, we cannot rule out the possibility of enjoying a short but sweet teaser on PS5 in the future through other means

Konami told GamesRadar that those who own the PS4 version of "PT" will not be able to re-download it on PS5, as it is not listed on the PlayStation Store The PT demo, which was a surprise teaser video for the now-defunct "Silent Hills," was later removed from the PlayStation Store in 2015

Fortunately, there are other means of transferring game files to the PS5 that do not involve official downloads PT enthusiasts have long stored their precious game data via Wi-Fi transfer or external storage The "PT" is an important, hard-to-find gem for many, and has It is one of the most frightening prospects ever introduced into gaming So transferring PT from external storage to the PS5 via local Wi-Fi should, in theory, work The only question is whether the new console will actually recognize PT as a playable game

Konami made it clear to IGN that it "cannot confirm or deny" that using one of the other transfer methods is actually a viable option Normally, all that is required to share a PT with another player is to send the PT to another console via data transfer However, Konami seems to be very cautious about this particular release, although it does not assert that this process is impossible

Given that PT is part of a project that was cancelled after creator Hideo Kojima's departure from Konami (as far as we know), the developer will spare no expense to ensure that this relic of the past and reminder of Kojima's presence is preserved Sony, however, has yet to comment on the matter

Currently, PT is nowhere to be found on the official PS5 backward compatible games list Konami has consistently sealed PT and gone the extra mile to keep it out of players' hands It is hard to believe that full support exists for a new generation of PT fans to play PT as voraciously as we did six years ago Still, we can't help but think of Silent Hills with a twinkle in our eyes, wistfully
