While exclusive games seem to be a major focus for the PS5, a special game may be on the horizon in the form of a remake of the original "Metal Gear Solid"
This PS1 classic game has appeared on other PlayStation consoles since its release in 1998, but has never been properly remade However, YouTube gaming channel RedGamingTech claims to have received word from sources that a full remake, not just a remaster, is in the works for the PS5
The source is said to have a 100 percent track record of accurate leaks and tip-offs, and claims that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 will also be re-released However, Push Square reports that these will be remasters, not remakes of Metal Gear Solid, and it is unclear if these games will be released on the PS5
It would seem odd to re-release a fairly old set of games for the PS5 that have not been fully remodeled to take advantage of the 1028 teraflops of power However, remaking games takes a long time, so starting with "Metal Gear Solid" and possibly reworking its sequel seems like a logical move
Sony is quite bullish that they believe in console generational change and exclusive games for the next generation of consoles A remake of "Metal Gear Solid" would do just that, but at the same time it would add another remake to a launch lineup that has few new original IPs
Additionally, Sony has stated that 99% of PS4 games will run on the PS5 In addition, Sony has a "PS Plus Collection" that will offer a select selection of PS4-exclusive games to new consoles for a fee In other words, Sony seems to have backed off a bit on the idea of a console entirely dedicated to next-generation games
The PS5 is available for pre-order now, with both the standard and digital versions coming out on November 12 in the US and November 19 in the UK and other regions In other words, it won't be long before we see what unannounced games are coming to Sony's next-generation console
