An iPhone 12 reveal event may be announced, as well as a surprise announcement of the Apple Watch 6
This is based on two similar but competing rumors First, Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech claims that Apple will announce a new product in a press release this Tuesday However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claims that this week will not be about a specific product, but rather Apple's major fall product launch event
If Prosser is correct, the new devices will apparently be posted on Apple's website at 9 am (6 am on the West Coast and 2 pm in the UK)
If there is a product to be announced by Apple this week, according to previous Prosser leaks, it could be the Apple Watch 6 and a new iPad, either a refreshed basic iPad or a redesigned iPad Air 4
Notably, all Apple Watches except the first version in 2015 were announced at the same event as that year's iPhone And this is why some experts and leakers find Prosser's claims hard to believe
Prosser also predicts that the iPhone 12 event will take place in the week beginning October 12, a little over a month from now Whether or not that is true, what seems to be consistent is that the iPhone 12 will be revealed at an online launch event in October
This is slightly later than the usual September event, but is due to production and testing delays resulting from the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic Apple itself has already stated that the new iPhones will be delayed by several weeks
The iPhone 12 has already been detailed by a series of leaks well before its release date This year's lineup will reportedly consist of four models, including the 54-inch iPhone 12, 61-inch iPhone 12 Max, 61-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and 67-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max
All models should feature the new A14 chipset, 5G connectivity, OLED displays, and a main/ultra-wide camera duo on the back iPhone 12 Pro models will have a telephoto camera and LiDAR depth sensor on the back to increase camera versatility likely to be added The iPhone 12 Pro may also feature a 120 Hz ProMotion display
