Google Pixel4a was teased with a new ad because Verizon confirmed the phone

Google may have recently teased the Pixel 4a with an ad for its Google Fi cell phone service It may have just been a coincidental similar design, but that doesn't stop Google smartphone fans from being intrigued

Originally posted on SlashLeaks by user bluejosh9725 (via MobileSyrup), the Google Fi ad includes a basic illustration of the smartphone It is depicted in typical Google minimalist fashion, not the focus of the ad, but combined with knowledge of existing leaked information shows some similarities with the Pixel 4a

The image appears to be based on the Pixel phone, as it features the same button layout, with the power button and two volume buttons all on the right side We also see that there is a colored power button, a design feature that debuted on last year's Pixel 3a This one is a pale pink, a color not found on the Pixel 3a or Pixel 4 This may be an indication of how the button will look on one of the Pixel 4a's two known color variations: just black and Bali Blue

Then there is the issue of the front camera: the Pixel 4a is rumored to be Google's first phone with a punch-hole notch instead of a bezel The phone will not have a large bezel at the top, and one of the images shows what looks like a notch for a selfie camera, adding more weight to the rumors we have heard

This could mean a generic placeholder Pixel rather than a Pixel 4a; even the Pixel 4a is believed to inherit the trademark thick chin of the Pixel series, whereas the bezel around the phone is uniform on all sides

The Pixel 4a was also mentioned early by one of the largest wireless carriers, as spotted by Droid Life, on Verizon's Pixel 3 and 4 update page when discussing Google's new auto collision detection feature, explicitly mentions the Pixel 4a

According to other leaked information, the Pixel 4a will feature a Snapdragon 730 chipset and 8GB RAM, a single camera on the back and front, and an OLED FHD 58-inch display The new Pixel has been expected to launch soon for several months, but coronavirus-related delays appear to have pushed back the date It is now expected to be announced in July

These rumored features and an expected price of around $400 will put the Pixel 4a on the same playing field as the iPhone SE (2020) iPhone SE has a more powerful CPU (the same A13 chip found in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro) but with much less RAM and a smaller 47-inch display

Both models have only one rear camera, and the sensor size is likely to be about the same Therefore, whether the Pixel 4a can replace the iPhone SE as the best camera phone choice depends on the phone's post-processing capabilities
