PS5 Secret Weapon against Xbox Series x Just Revealed

Sony's upcoming PS5 could offer free instant game demos of all available titles thanks to the console's ability to quickly load and stream content

The source is the Twitter account PS5 Only (@ConsoleTime), which makes this claim in the following post The account does not cite the source, only tagging it as a rumor (via TechRadar) As such, please take such information with a grain of salt

If the claims are true, this would be a great feature for Sony's next generation of game consoles When users are undecided about purchasing a game, being able to instantly try it out via streaming would hopefully help many PlayStation fans find the right game for them

The PS4 already offers PS Now, which allows users to stream new and old games for a subscription fee However, this is not as good as Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass, so Sony will need to enhance the feature in order to persuade more Xbox users to change their loyalty or to extract more money from existing fans

PS5 has already confirmed that downloading certain parts of the game (single player, multiplayer, etc) will eliminate the need to download everything else Therefore, it is not inconceivable that developers could create a separate section for the free trial version and make it easily accessible from the relevant section of the PlayStation Store

While this instant demo claim may be mere speculation, there are a few things that have been confirmed with certainty about the new generation of consoles: the PS5 and Xbox Series X are expected to launch around November, despite the troubles caused by the Coronavirus lockdown; the PS3 is expected to launch around the same time as the PS3, despite the fact that the PS4 is expected to launch around the same time

Both consoles are also expected to make major announcements in May and June, including the reveal of the PS5 console, which has been kept under wraps by Sony However, we have already seen the Xbox Series X and PlayStation DualSense controllers and are learning about key features of both consoles, such as SSD storage and ray tracing capabilities for better graphics
