Microsoft is set to unveil the Surface Go 2, but the latest leaked retail price suggests it may be more expensive than expected
Italian technology reseller Breakpoint (via Windows Latest) has accidentally posted a complete spec sheet for the Surface Go 2 and Microsoft Surface Book 3, with the former starting at €459 (about $500 or £400) The first Surface Go is priced at €399 (about $399 or £400) Considering that the original Surface Go started at $399, the successor seems to have raised the price considerably [The Surface Go 2 has a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1,800 x 1,200 and a choice of Intel Core m3-8100Y or Pentium 4425Y processor; the Pentium processor is found in entry-level tablets GB and 8 GB options, and storage ranges from 64 GB to 256 GB
This is pretty much what we expect from the second-generation Surface Go We expect the internals to be updated, of course, but we also expect the bezels to be slimmer and the exterior design to change a bit As to whether that will happen, no announcement has been made yet [It comes with a 105-inch Retina display, a powerful A12 Bionic chip, and an optional keyboard cover; unlike the iPad Pro 2020's optional Magic Keyboard add-on, the iPad Air's optional keyboard has a track does not come with a pad, the Surface Go 2 could win out thanks to Microsoft's Type Cover
It is not certain if the listing on Breakpoint bundles the Type Cover with the Surface Go 2 If so, $500 for the tablet and its premium keyboard accessory might be easy to swallow But if sold separately, the Surface Go 2 could be a rather expensive proposition, especially considering that Microsoft's Surface Pro 7 is not that expensive at $749
As for the Surface Book 3, the 13-inch model will start at €1,617 (about $1,760 or £1,410) and the 15-inch version at €2,234 (about $2,430 or £1,950) for the Surface Book 3, not much is expected to change other than moving to Intel's latest chips and Nvidia graphics We would like to see a few tweaks to the design, but there have been no leaks to suggest that
