11:47 am: Accessory timeThe OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones are a pair of wireless earphones that appear to match the OnePlus 8 series color options More importantly, they promise 10 hours of battery life on a 10-minute charge And on a full charge, they're capable of 20 hours of playback We can't wait to see how it holds up in the real world

11:45 am: Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm, joined the party and doubled down on the 5G buzz; 5G seems to be the topic of every major phone announcement, but it still doesn't feel ubiquitous in the real world Perhaps a phone like the OnePlus 8 could change that

11:40 am: Let's talk about 5G: OnePlus CEO Pete Lau jumps in from OnePlus headquarters to talk about the company's plans to support super-fast wireless networks Here's the big news: OnePlus is finally coming to Verizon You will be able to purchase a special version of the OnePlus 8 5G UW, customized to work on Verizon's 5G network

11:30 am: Time to move on to the standard OnePlus 8 The design is almost identical to the Pro, but it looks like we'll have to give up the 120Hz screen and quad camera array Fenwick calls the OnePlus 8 the flagship to buy if you want a small phone that can handle anything, while keeping the display size and performance He mentioned using it for Zoom calls on numerous occasions

It is worth noting that the OnePlus 8 has a significantly larger area than the iPhone 11 thanks to its nearly borderless front display We also got an up-close look at its ultra-thin edges and featherweight 108-gram design

The regular OnePlus 8 has a unique color option called Interstellar Glow, a fascinating film-based color change design that shows different colors depending on the angle of view Want it now

Specs-wise, it has a Snapdragon 865 processor, up to 256GB of super-fast storage, USB 31, Wi-Fi 6, and a massive 4,300mAh battery

11:25 am: Next up is performance, and Fenwick calls the OnePlus 8 Pro the best ever thanks to advanced haptic feedback, Dolby Atmos sound, a speedy Snapdragon 865 CPU, and a smooth 120Hz display We call it the gaming smartphone

Then comes the Warp Charge This unique 30W technology, which has been rumored for months, promises amazingly fast charging and also supports reverse wireless charging, so you can use the back of the OnePlus 8 Pro to charge other wireless gadgets

Warp Charge 30 Wireless promises to deliver 50% more power in just 30 minutes To demonstrate this, OnePlus released a video of the 8 Pro, S20 Ultra, and iPhone 11 Pro Max all charging for 30 minutes; the OnePlus 8 Pro was charged to 51%, while the S20 Ultra and Pro Max were only charged to 35% and 22% respectively The OnePlus 8 Pro was charged to 51% Great results

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with three months of free Google Stadia Pro, which allows you to join dozens of gamers streaming games from Google's cloud gaming service It also supports Alexa for voice commands

11:20 am: Let's talk about the camera: it's OnePlus' first quad-camera setup, with a 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 48MP main camera, a color filter camera, and a 3x telephoto lens the Galaxy S20 Ultra's whopping 108MP While it may not be as good as the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108MP shooter, we can't wait to see how the two stack up in real-world use

The camera samples we are seeing are seriously impressive, displaying tons of detail in zoomed-in shots in the desert and in nighttime city shots that seem to boast much better low-light performance than the iPhone 11 Pro The 3-HDR feature also allows you to combine three different shots to get the best possible dynamic range Again, the samples look much better than Apple's

11:15 am: Side-by-side comparison of the OnePlus 8 Pro's 120Hz display and the iPhone 11 Pro's 60Hz screen while scrolling through a web page; OnePlus says its display is six times smoother than Apple's OnePlus says its display is six times smoother than Apple's

11:10 am: The OnePlus 8 series is here The new phones look almost identical to what we've seen in teases and leaks, but that doesn't make them any less sexy - especially when it comes to those green and blue models Fenwick emphasizes the physical feel of the devices, saying that every time you pick one up, "I want you to feel like you're holding a work of art in your hand"

Fenwick went on to discuss some key specifications, such as the punch-hole camera and IP68 water resistance, but it's really all about the display He calls the OnePlus 8 Pro's display the most advanced of any smartphone, with a 678-inch, 3168 x 1440 screen capable of a whopping 1300 nits of brightness The real calling card is the 120Hz refresh rate, but the display's promise of over a billion colors is also quite exciting

11:05 am: Rian Fenwick, corporate PR head for OnePlus, opened the show by addressing the elephant in the room and promising a unique online experience with presentations around the world Fenwick laid out several major awards and milestones, highlighting how OnePlus has grown in popularity thanks to its strong ties to the community

Fenwick called out OnePlus' breakthrough in 5G and highlighted the award-winning OnePlus Concept One phone at CES T-Mobile's Chris Belter also spoke via phone video about OnePlus' cooperation in the domestic introduction of T-Mobile 5G

11:00 am: The show officially started with a quick clip of people all over the world working from home (and turning in things like OnePlus fast charging cables in the process) This is a fun way to start things off, and feels a heck of a lot more self-aware than a company trying to emulate the hype of a large face-to-face show

10:40 am: It's almost showtime, and while almost everything about the OnePlus 8 has already leaked, we're still excited to see the new phone in person -- especially since we won't have to wait in long lines outside the venue Especially since we don't have to wait in long lines outside the venue:
