The other day we learned that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20's codename starts with a "C" and wondered what that meant We now have its official name While we regret that we didn't get it right, it makes sense given the distinctive features of the Note series
Ice Universe, who posted the first "Project C" tweet, added another post to the thread, below, with the full codename Canvas
Considering this name and the rest of Ice Universe's tweet, it is obvious why this is a sensible and relevant name for the Galaxy Note 20 Samsung is one of the only manufacturers still making phones with a built-in stylus, and certainly the only one among its premium competitors
Samsung needs to continue to give users new reasons to stick with the Note series rather than migrate to another phablet And what better way to demonstrate its commitment to that goal than to name a phone after a fabric famously used in paintings?
The Galaxy Note 10 adds new features to the S Pen, including Air Action, which controls the phone with gestures, and the ability to remotely control the camera Given that these did not work entirely reliably in our review, we hope this will be refined in the next phone in the series
As for new capabilities, we expect that some of the camera technology that Samsung first showed off in the Galaxy S20 series, especially the Galaxy S20 Ultra, will be included in the Note 20 As for the "canvas" (ie, the display) itself, a refresh rate increase to 120Hz is planned, which, combined with the size increase, would make it the perfect place to try out the new S Pen trick that Samsung has decided to introduce
