Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power Specs Leak: Here's what you get

The Moto G7 Power took the top spot on the long-lasting smartphone list last year with its 5,000mAh battery A new report on the rumored specs of this year's version of the Moto G8 Power suggests that the big battery is back and some other impressive features will be added

This is according to leaked specs for both the Moto G8 and G8 Power published by XDA Developers, which cites "reliable sources" who provided information on these unreleased Motorola phones (According to XDA's sources, these new G8 models boast very similar features, but the G8 Power stands out in several key areas, and not just because its 5,000 mAh battery outperforms the G8's 4,000 mAh power pack

The G8 Power will reportedly feature a 636-inch LCD panel with a sharper resolution than the G8's 639-inch display; the G8 Power will have a resolution of 2300 x 1080, while the G8 will have 1560 x 720 Last year, the Moto G7 had a full HD display

Both models feature a punch-hole display, with a camera cutout in the upper left corner reminiscent of the Infinity-O display that Samsung used on the recent Galaxy S and Galaxy Note, from leaked renderings posted by 91Mobiles, we can get an idea of what the Moto G8 family will look like

Both new G8 models are expected to feature a 16MP (f/17) main camera augmented by a 2MP macro lens and an 8MP wide-angle lens with a 118-degree viewing angle However, according to XDA, the G8 Power will have a fourth rear camera, 8MP with an f/24 aperture; the G8 Power's front camera also appears to be more powerful, with a reported 25MP sensor versus the Moto G8's front 8MP camera

We do not know what effect these additional features of the Moto G8 Power will have on the price of that phone Last year, the G7 Power debuted for $249, $50 less than the $299 Moto G7 We expect Motorola's recent G-series phones to stay in the budget market, which they dominate, but it is now possible that the Power will be the more expensive model

Other rumored features on the G8 and G8 Power appear to be the same Both models are expected to run on the mid-range Snapdragon 665 system-on-chip, which is also the chipset of the Moto G8 Plus There is a rear fingerprint sensor under the Motorola logo on the new G8 phones, and they are expected to run Android 10

Of course, Motorola still needs to officially announce the Moto G8 and G8 Power That could take place next month at or around Mobile World Congress, when smartphone makers typically announce spring releases
