Galaxy Z Flip hinges make video calls easier (Report)

Foldable devices are a new form factor for smartphones, but all the devices we have seen so far have one major mechanical factor in common Whether the screen is on the outside or inside the fold, the device can only be used either fully closed or fully open But according to new rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip may be usable in a third mode

According to a tweet posted by Max Weinbach (via 9to5Google), the Z Flip can be opened up to 180 degrees or fixed at 90 degrees, as shown in the GIF below, with display output in the top vertical section and controls and options in the bottom horizontal section, while moving the base can reportedly function as a stand for video calls, as shown in the GIF below

This GIF comes from Samsung's October One UI presentation to developers (pictured in the image at the top of this page) It was not certain whether this useful-looking feature would be included in the production version of the phone, but this alleged leak supports the idea that it will be

Additionally, an earlier tweet by Weinbach states that the Z Flip allows users to end a call by closing the phone Given that this was the case with the old flip phones, it is reasonable to assume that Samsung will bring back this feature, and we are glad to see this confirmed by a reliable leaker

The Motorola Razr is now confirmed to be launching early next month as well, and it's going to be a very foldable February In the meantime, to catch up on the latest leaks and news, check out our Galaxy Z Flip rumor page, which is regularly updated with all information about Samsung's new flexible smartphone
