Even though Gamescom 2021 has no physical location, many games were on display today (August 25) Following the Xbox showcase at Gamescom 2021 yesterday, Gamescom 2021's opening night keynote featured a number of new titles for PC, PS5, Switch, and mobile, in addition to Microsoft's popular series
The Gamescom opening keynote featured more than 30 games, ranging from a major title (Halo Infinite) to a title created by a single development team (Midnight Fight Express) Journalist Geoff Keighley moderated the event, which included two hours of trailers, gameplay demos, and interviews with developers

Although it would take another two hours to explain each game in detail (at least
Halo fans were understandably disappointed when "Halo Infinite" was not mentioned at all during Microsoft's Gamescom live stream But the Gamescom keynote rewarded their patience with an all-new multiplayer trailer, as well as the announcement of two new Halo-themed peripherals: the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller and the Xbox Series X console
To celebrate Halo's 20th anniversary, Microsoft will release a controller inspired by Master Chief's iconic armor and a console with a space background and several distinctive geometric patterns
More importantly, the game finally has a release date: December 8, 2021; it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, but will not feature campaign co-op or creative Forge mode at launch
"Saints Row" originated as a somewhat bizarre take on "Grand Theft Auto" and ended up as a sci-fi parody where you play as the president of the United States with super powers The new reboot, dubbed Saints Row, would bring the series back down to earth
The opening keynote at Gamescom 2021 featured a story trailer and a short gameplay montage of the upcoming open-world crime game The new "Saints Row" will be a story about rival gangs rather than an alien invasion, but it seems to be full of humor and funny physics to match The game will be released for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 25, 2022
We learned a lot about Call of Duty: Vanguard during the announcement live stream a few weeks ago, but today we got our first look at the game's campaign Laura Bailey plays Polina Petrova, a Soviet nurse turned sniper during World War II According to Bailey, Polina is inspired by real-life snipers like Lyudmila Pavlyuchenko, who fought against the Red Army during the siege of Odessa and other key battles
The gameplay is familiar to fans of the Call of Duty campaign, mixing atmospheric stealth with high-octane shooting on impressive European battlefields The game will be released on November 5, 2021 and will feature both a campaign mode and the series' signature versus multiplayer
"Marvel's Midnight Suns" comes out of nowhere, but is one of the most interesting games of the Gamescom 2021 keynote: this strategy/RPG from Firaxis games puts you in control of an original hero from the Marvel universe and puts you in control of a team of comic You will be teaming up with dark heroes from the comics To stop an evil witch named Lilith, the customizable protagonist Hunter recruits familiar companions such as Wolverine, Blade, Magik, and Ghost Rider to help him through a strange tale of the occult
Captain America and Iron Man also make appearances, so if you need a more recognizable hero for your team, pick that one
No release date has been set for the game yet, but Firaxis will be hosting a larger live stream on September 1 that will feature gameplay as well as a cinematic trailer video
About a month ago, Sony hinted that "Horizon Forbidden West" might be delayed to 2022 Unfortunately, that turned out to be true Fortunately, players won't have to wait much longer for this long-awaited open-world sequel, as we learned during the opening keynote at Gamescom that "Horizon Forbidden West" will be released on both PS4 and PS5 on February 18, 2022
Unfortunately, this is all we learned today The developer showed off a more significant chunk of gameplay in May, which will apparently be held off until early next year
There are a few other games of note:
