We learned last week that Apple is reportedly working on a blue MacBook Air 2021
The news came from Jon Prosser, a regular Apple leaker, who has since commissioned renderings of both the blue and green MacBook Air 2021
As Prosser explains in the public video (the images are first released at the 5-minute mark), these renderings are based on official images Thus, showing the commissioned renderings is something of a workaround: they come directly from an Apple source per se, but clearly show material from a bona fide leak
Indeed, the blue and green MacBook Air 2021 seen here matches the color scheme of the new iMac Still, it will be a very welcome change for those who prefer the functionality of the MacBook Air but are a bit tired of the usual silver, gray, and gold
Prosser commissioned artist Ian "Renders by Ian" Zerbo to create the images If that name sounds familiar, it is because Zelbo recently created renderings of the blue MacBook Air 2021 These new renderings feature fewer USB Type-C ports, but are otherwise very similar to Zelbo's previous designs
Both Zelbo's design and Prosser's leak show a slimmer bezel on the MacBook Air 2021, which is a much-needed design improvement, but Prosser said that he and the render artist were not included in the original leaked source material because Prosser states that he and the render artists had to "guess" at the exact dimensions because they were not included in the original leaked source material
This is also the first significant hint that the MacBook Air 2021 may come in colors other than blue; Prosser's sources claim to have only seen the blue and green models firsthand, but it is possible that the MacBook Air 2021 will be the new iMac following in the footsteps of the new iMac, it makes sense to offer a variety of colors rather than sticking to one
We expect to learn more about the MacBook Air 2021 in the near future, as current rumors suggest that it will be available in late 2021
