The PS5-exclusive sci-fi/horror game "Returnal" is just two weeks away from release With the launch just around the corner, a number of trailers will be released, including this new trailer that takes a deeper look at some of the game's enemies
The roguelike will offer a unique gameplay experience not seen since the "Mooncrash" DLC for "Prey" Players will explore an alien planet where the protagonist Selene has crash-landed and must solve puzzles in a spooky house that has appeared in the environment
The new trailer introduces all of the enemies to be encountered on Atropos, and from the looks of it, unusual and terrifying encounters await First up is the Micomorph, described as "a large fungus-like entity that can fire its own spores" to slow down its target
Somewhat disturbing in appearance, but somewhat more dangerous, is the titanops It moves quickly, but can also lunge and jump to get into range In doing so, it can use its bladed limbs to inflict hand wounds
Automatons are equipped not only with "rapid-fire cannons" but also with claws that grab and lunge at their targets Gorgolis are "ambush predators," lying in wait under the sand They use their tails and tongues to lunge, so be careful
There are several enemies that are not described, but they do not seem to be common enemies, at least that is what I assume from the context of the trailer
Ixions are "living sentient beings" and appear to be intelligent life forms that have degenerated into the monsters seen in the trailer Finally, the infected scout is like the creepy Selene clone from "Annihilation," but with more tentacles and power
"Returnal" will be available on PS5 on April 30, and you can pre-order the standard edition or the "Returnal Digital Deluxe Edition" now
