What could be better than a 98-inch Samsung TV, or two 98-inch Samsung TVs for that matter?
Despite announcing a 98-inch QLED TV just a month ago, Samsung is adding a second giant TV to its 2023 TV lineup according to Display Specifications, this latest 98-inch TV will be Samsung announced in June, because it is an 8K QLED TV, not the 4K-resolution QLED TV
This new 98-inch model will round out Samsung's high-end QN900C Neo QLED 8K TV series It will be available only in Korea and will be model number KQ98QNC990 Pricing is currently unknown, but is expected to be $7,999, more expensive than the 98-inch Samsung QLED 4K TV (98Q80C) announced last month
The 98-inch Samsung QN900C Neo QLED 8K TV will be available in additional markets after its launch in Korea, and if the 98Q80C is any indication, those with a little patience may be able to purchase Samsung's latest 8K behemoth at a bargain Samsung's 98-inch QLED 4K TV has only been on sale for a month, but it's already discounted by $1,000; that's a 125% discount just for waiting a month
Now, there's no guarantee that the 8K QLED will get the same discount on the 98-inch model, but the 98-inch 4K QLED isn't the only one getting a discount from Samsung recently; the 85-inch Samsung QN900C Neo QLED 8K TV was also recently reduced from $7,999 to $6,999 The price was reduced, so it is quite possible that the larger 98-inch will be reduced not long after its release
But if you can't wait for a discount, we don't blame you; the QN900C 98" is loaded with features and high-end specs: the QLED 8K display runs at 144Hz and features Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro and Game Motion Plus, enabling gaming at up to 144Hz at 4K resolution Samsung's Neural Quantum Processor 8K also enables 8K upscaling of non-8K content, making this TV a great choice despite the lack of native 8K content
And of course, it has many of the features one would expect from the best TVs: HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG HDR modes are all supported (no Dolby Vision, unfortunately) And with a 120W speaker array, Dolby Atmos support, and a host of other audio features, the sound should be impressive enough that you won't need the best soundbar
In short, if you want a truly future-proof home theater display, this is as good as it gets In our review of the Samsung QN900C Neo QLED 8K TV, we praised this TV as the best 8K display with unparalleled brightness thanks to its Quantum Dot MiniLED panel But if you want something a little more wallet-friendly, be sure to check out our best TV deals
