The OnePlus 12 has been officially announced, ending the last big smartphone release of 2023 Now PhoneArena is focusing on next year's big battle, the iPhone 16 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S24
The site has released two sets of renderings based on current rumors to give an idea of how the two giants of the smartphone world compare The first set shows the regular Samsung Galaxy S24 against the iPhone 16 Pro, and the second set turns attention to two plus-size models: the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max
At a glance, these photos show the iPhone 16 Pro and the Galaxy S24 would not seem to be that much different in the hand But in fact, as the PhoneArena numbers show, the latter is slightly smaller and significantly lighter: [but with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the positions are reversed
That can also be seen in the accompanying renderings:
It is worth emphasizing that the renderings are still based on rumored figures And while the S24's look pretty confirmed, given that it is set to be released next month, we are still about 10 months away from the next generation iPhone, and giving measurements down to 1/20th of a millimeter is somewhat premature
Still, both Apple's and Samsung's plans are beginning to materialize: aside from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Samsung's Galaxy S24 will be a mostly incremental upgrade hardware-wise, with the S24 Ultra getting a 10MP 10x sensor There are major changes planned for the quad-camera setup, with a new 50MP 5x telephoto lens in its place
Also, the entire S24 series is set to benefit from generative AI, which could change the way we use our phones and is far more important than hardware changes
As for the iPhone 16, we are just getting started, but we have heard that a 5x telephoto lens, previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be added to the Pro model Action buttons are rumored to arrive on all four models after being successfully introduced for Pro buyers earlier this year
