According to a recent leak posted on X, the screen of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will not be completely flat A user with the handle @roderSuper claims that the screen will have a 03-04mm curve to the bezel This would refute the claim that Samsung is aiming for a completely flat screen in its next device
The leak is in response to a leaked image that occurred last week That image showed that Samsung was aiming for a flat screen This would remove one of the main exterior aesthetics of the Ultra model: the design
The leak also states that the top and bottom bezels are half the size of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra The left and right bezels are the same size as the previous model This indicates that Samsung is aiming to reduce the curvature of the screen on the Ultra model
Screen curvature has been an issue for some users with previous models This is due to problems that may occur when using the S Pen Some users have complained about using the pen on a curved screen This issue has to do with the pen sliding down the side of the screen during use Samsung is aware of this problem and may be trying to compensate by minimizing the curve of the S23 ultra
We will know more about how the screen affects the usability of the S pen once the S24 ultra comes out For now, Samsung is aiming for a mid-January 2024 release
Of course, it's not just the screen that will change when Samsung releases its next flagship; the S24 Ultra will feature a new 50MP telephoto lens (an upgrade from the current 10MP one) and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all regions Hotly touted
However, the most fundamental change for this device could be software-related, and Samsung plans to use generative AI in its next device We have already seen the benefits of AI in the Google Pixel 8 Pro and others, so it is not surprising that Samsung aims to keep pace with Google's software smarts
