The Apple Vision Pro is likely to appear in "early 2024." Cupertino staffers were not more specific than that, but thanks to a tipster, we now know it will be late next year, early next year.
According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, Vision Pro will be released "around March."
While the official reason is unclear, there are some logical suggestions that shed a little more light on what is happening behind the scenes with the new headset.
First, Forbes hints that more "advanced device testing" may be needed before the big release: in addition to 12 cameras, 5 sensors, 6 microphones, an M2 chip, and a new R1 processor, the device will have a unique identifier to unlock it ( It even has high-performance eye tracking that can scan the iris as an Optic ID. Given the sheer amount of computation and the complex software Apple is building to make the headset as simple to use as possible, more testing is not a bad thing. At a price of $3,500, any company will want to carefully manage the purchasing process.
In short, "no." It's not all bad news for those outside the U.S., however. Garman said that for logistical reasons, the U.S. is the first country to receive the headsets, which will then be expanded to "certain countries" within the year.
Who is on this list? We don't know, but looking back at other first-generation Apple devices launched at such staggered times, Gurman began to suggest that the UK and Canada are two possible next-stage launches.
