Black Friday is a great time to get the best mattresses of the year at the lowest prices.
But if you're thinking of waiting for Black Friday itself (which lands on Friday, November 24 this year) to get your hands on the best Black Friday mattress deals, we have news for you. Shop now. Because the best deals are already on sale and unlikely to improve next week.
Many of the best mattresses in the box are on sale for up to 50% off in some cases, and both budget and luxury beds alike are generously priced. For example, Saatva's most popular hybrid bed, the Classic, is a $400 bargain (read our Saatva Classic mattress review for more details).
Here are three reasons we think you should buy a new mattress this weekend instead of waiting until next Friday.
As a team, we've covered Black Friday sales for years and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to mattress deals. In the past few years alone, sleep brands and retailers have been moving their Black Friday sales earlier and earlier, with some, like Nectar Sleep and Dreamcloud, running massive flash sales in late October. [For example, this year, DreamCloud's early access Black Friday flash sale was held at the end of October, with a whopping 50% off all DreamCloud mattresses and a queen-size luxury hybrid for only $665 (it was $1,332).
We analyzed this year's sale and in our expert opinion, most of the best offers are available now. Thus, if you urgently need a new mattress, there is little reason to wait until Friday the 24th.
Here are our favorite early deals that you can shop this weekend:
Over the past two years, delivery delays for items ordered during Black Friday and Cyber Monday have spiked. This was spurred on by delivery problems with mattress materials during the pandemic season, but that does not appear to be the case this year.
However, we are already seeing some brands also changing their normal shipping estimates, shipping in 5-10 days where they normally ship in 1-5 days. In particular, brands such as Saatva, Helix Sleep, and Tempur-Pedic recommend shopping early for their custom-made luxury mattresses, which can take one to six weeks to manufacture and ship. If Black Friday orders flood in, there is a risk that new mattresses will not be available until after Christmas.
If you want a mattress that is guaranteed to arrive in three to five business days, we suggest looking at the following brands that offer the best hybrid and memory foam mattresses this year:
Black Friday is a massive sales event, and mattresses are (figuratively speaking) fly off the shelves. If you know what bed you want, it's in stock, and it's already on sale at the best price, we recommend buying it now to avoid the possibility of disappointment.
As well as increased shipping times, we have seen several mattress brands post updates about low inventory levels on popular mattresses. For example, Layla Sleep has low inventory on the Layla Memory Foam Mattress (currently $200 off with two free pillows at Layla Sleep) and Casper Sleep is sold out of the Snug Mattress, with only three sizes left, Casper Snug in Queen is down to just $297 (was $495).
The Black Friday closeout sale is super popular thanks to huge discounts of up to 70%, so buying this weekend is highly recommended. The new Tempur-Pedic mattresses are up to $2,399 less than the previous generation Tempur Breeze Cooling Bed. This is a final sale only (no returns or sleep trials), but it comes with a 10-year warranty. Tempur-Pedic will end this sale early, before Black Friday.
Buying a mattress is never a rush purchase, so don't be swayed by the deep discounts flying around online and in stores. Black Friday is definitely the best time to buy a new mattress, but you need to be confident in your purchase decision. If you don't feel confident, or if you think you might end up buying a bed that isn't right for you just because it's on sale for a very low price, think twice.
