Edgar Wright's raging action film Baby Driver is one of the best action films of the 2010s It stars a soft-spoken getaway driver named Baby (Ansel Elgort) who is forced to work with a slick professional criminal, Doc (Kevin Spacey), to pay off a personal debt But when he hits it off with a young waitress (Lily James), the two make plans to skip town and start a new life together
While the narrative bones of Baby Driver are pretty routine (you can probably guess how smoothly Baby's "last job" goes), it is Wright's direction that makes this action epic stand out so much The British director perfectly synchronizes the on-screen events with the film's carefully selected soundtrack, constantly surprising us with car chases and dramatic sequences There has been talk of a sequel for years, and if you've seen the original, you'll join the chorus of those who want to see more

"Blackfish" is a shocking documentary that explores the world of orca captivity and the tragic consequences of keeping these sea creatures in cages This feature-length documentary covers a lot of ground, but its primary focus is on the orca known as Tilikum and the disturbing circumstances that led to the drowning of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau in 2010 More tragically, Tilikum had previously caused two deaths
The 2013 documentary also examines the inhuman methods used to capture killer whales and the inappropriate habitat in which they are often kept The impact of these factors on the moods and temperaments of killer whales is immeasurable, and in Tilikum's case, led to multiple tragedies Blackfish is often uncomfortable, but also deeply engaging By the time the credits roll, you'll be thinking twice about going back to your local marine mammal park

Before "Star Wars," there was "American Graffiti George Lucas' tribute to the rock 'n' roll culture of the 1960s may not feature a lightsaber, but there is no shortage of inventive filmmaking in this coming-of-age comedy set on the last night of summer vacation in 1962, when a group of high school graduates spend one last night in a small California town They get together for one last night of fun and mayhem in a small California town
Starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat and Candy Clark, American Graffiti was a hit upon its release and left a distinct mark on the film industry for decades Much of the film is laugh-out-loud funny, but it is the dramatic edge that makes this American cinematic experience so special The characters enjoying an innocent night out seem carefree on the surface, but in their shadow stands the cruel reality of adulthood American Graffiti is a story that anyone, regardless of age, who has experienced growing up can relate to
Genre Comedy Rotten Tomatoes Score: 95 Streaming on Netflix
To be honest, I'm far from an expert when it comes to the "One Piece" franchise: however, the critical and commercial reception of "One Piece Film: Red" makes it clear that it is of sufficient quality for a feature-length anime However, being the fifteenth (yes, fifteenth) "ONE PIECE" film, it would not be an ideal jumping-off point for beginners
Part action-fantasy adventure, part toe-tapping musical, ONE PIECE FILM: The Strawfish gang travels to the island of Erelia to attend a concert by Yuta, a singer famous for hiding her true identity and singing Excitement builds, however, when Yuta declares that she will reveal her true identity in her latest performance, but it turns out that this is actually a cover for a more shocking plan And once again, Luffy and his crew mates save the day
Genre Adventure Rotten Tomatoes Score: 95 Streaming on Netflix
Will Smith won an Oscar for this movie, and let's leave aside what he did that night Smith unflinchingly embodies the role of Richard Williams, the father of tennis greats Serena and Venus
"King Richard" is a pretty standard sports biopic, but it offers some interesting insight into the father who propelled the two girls to become the greatest tennis players of all time But while Richard may have been a coach who turned his daughters into sports superstars, he was also a very flawed man King Richard may not be the most original sports biopic, but Smith's imposing performance makes it worth watching to its satisfying conclusion"
