Netflix obviously wants its own high-profile sci-fi action franchise to compete with the genre's juggernaut, and "Atlas" is the streamer's latest attemptI hope it gets a little better accepted by critics (and viewers) than Zach Snyder's sci・fi flop "Rebel Moon," which debuted in 2 parts on Netflix and failed to make a major impact 

"Atlas" stars Jennifer Lopez as Atlas Shepard, a brilliant but less sociable data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence She signs up to join a mission to the stars to capture the rebellious robots linked to her mysterious past But when things take an unexpected turn and the carefully constructed plan doesn't go as expected, Atlas is forced to trust AI, who calls herself "Smith" to complete her mission Netflix expects "Atlas" to be the next big-budget cloud pleaser and will arrive in time for the anniversary weekend

You would probably assume a second film about the United States Civil War will be a non-stop action thriller centered on brave soldiers fighting on the front lines, taking viewers to the heart of the conflict That's why Alex Garland's "Civil War" has moved from New York to Washington, DCCFollowing a group of journalists heading to the White House, you might be a little surprised to know that they race against the clock to reach the White House before the decisive blow of the conflict is struck 

"Civil War" is almost certainly not the movie that many expected, but its unique subject matter makes it a fascinating drama that asks some big questions about our current social and media landscape Based on Kristen Dunst's stunning performance as a world-weary photojournalist and the excellent support turns of Wagner Moura, Kylie Spainey and Steven McKinley Henderson, "Civil War" is the most reflective film of the year In addition, those who want some thrill should be wary of short but spine-chilling scenes with Jesse Plemons

On a personal note, I struggled with "Ferrari" when I caught it in theaters in 2023/12 Its core story is compelling on paper, but the presentation really lacks the momentum needed to hook you up But the performance across the board is excellent, especially the lead turns from Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz Plus, the debut on Hulu is a chance for me to give you another chance and see if it's a movie that gets a bit smoother in the 2nd time

Based on Brock Yates's 1991 biography of Enzo Ferrari, Michael Mann's Ferrari follows Ezno's (driver) personal and professional struggles in 1957 This dangerous race will determine the fate of the automotive giant, as the automaker faces bankruptcy Alongside these professional challenges, Enzo is also on the issue of marriage, as his strong・willed wife, Laura Ferrari (Cruz), begins to suspect Enzo is unfaithful
