I'm obsessed with this brilliant robot window cleaner — here's why it's worth every penny

Do you hate cleaning windows? Who doesn't? The EcoVacs Winbot W2Omni is a clever, yet easy-to-use robot cleaner where suction automatically cleans and starts your windows for you Using this gadget, I've gone from yellow pollen colored windows to completely streaky results in minutes for floor-to-ceiling windows in my apartment,

I've been testing some of the best smart home devices over the years, but Winbot W2Omni really feels like I'm part of the house of the future It's one of the key ways I've turned my new apartment into the ultimate smart home space

I have been using a robotic vacuum cleaner for over 6 years, but it was the first time I had experienced a device that could be cleaned vertically while still securely attached But the true brilliance of Winbot W2Omni is based on how it intelligently cleans the entire panel and returns to its original starting point when it's done It uses these small nozzles that spray water every few inches as you climb or descend your windows Do not lie, it is happy to look strange

The setup of Winbot W2Omni has been minimized You simply moisten that mop pad, add water to the reservoir, put it on your window, and turn it on The robot immediately aspirates itself into the window and provides an auditory notification letting you know that it is secured From there, it detects the edge of your window and starts cleaning, processes the rest, and you can customize it with settings like how many times to cycle further and which direction it should move The robot itself is coupled to and is also powered by a square compact case that accommodates batteries, charging cables and an extra set of mop pads

There is a companion app that provides manual control and additional settings, but I think it's entirely optional I've been using Winbot W2Omni every few weeks for the past few months, but I still can't help but keep my huge 10-foot-long battery life every time it goes, it's already an incredible job in cleaning that is something you don't get on any smart home device It can not be admired to climb the windows of the garden

When Winbot exits the panel, it displays a small chime that tells you when to place it on the new surface When you turn off the power, you will be notified that the suction is turned off and that you need to hold the handle so that it does not fall Depending on the size of the panel and the dirt, you can rinse the mop pad, refill the reservoir and repeat It's not a fully automated cleaning process like you see with a robot vacuum cleaner or mop to self-empty, but given how much time and effort it has saved, I don't mind moving it between windows every few minutes until I clean them all

This is not only easier and quicker than using a bucket or squeegee, but it does a better job because it has no streaks and uses less water Needless to say, I don't even have to sweat Is this the type of smart home device I thought I'd ever need, let alone try? No, but now that I have, it really makes me excited to see what the future of home automation holds
