YouTube on Google TV and Android TV volume issue to be resolved

Google TV and Android TV are great streaming device operating systems, but they are not perfect One of its shortcomings is the YouTube app, which has a mixed volume depending on the video you are watching Thankfully, an update solves this problem with a new feature called Stable Volume

As the name implies, this feature changes the volume as you switch between YouTube videos; whatever topic YouTube throws at you next will only hurt your ears when the next creator screams

Since this feature was already available on YouTube on Android, it makes sense for Google to bring this feature to Google TV and the Android platform

Essentially, this feature analyzes the audio and normalizes the entire video This means that the user can enjoy the content at a relatively constant volume without having to pick up a remote control to adjust the volume of each video If the analysis determines that the volume of a particular video is too loud, the volume is lowered, and vice versa

How well this feature works remains to be tested, but it looks promising and has been well received on Android

Google will offer Stable Volume on streaming devices like the Chromecast with Google TV and the best smart TVs from brands like Hisense, Sony, and TCL Currently offered through an update to the YouTube app, Android and Google TV added the new Stable Volume feature in version v440303

Note that this new feature is on by default, so if you want to manually update the volume for each video (not sure why you would want to do that), you must turn it off in the YouTube app's "Settings"
