“Outer Banks” fans have had to wait a bit to see how season four of Netflix's teen drama will ultimately pan out for the lovable Pogue crew. Like fellow Netflix series “Emily in Paris,” “Stranger Things,” and “Bridgerton,” the fourth season of “OBX” will be available for streaming in two installments, with the first five episodes premiering on October 10 and the last five on arrive a few weeks later, on Thursday, November 7.
But according to the show's younger cast members, the wait will be well worth it once the new episodes arrive: in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Outer Banks” cast members Rudy Pankow (aka JJ Maybank), Madeline Klein (Sarah Cameron), Jonathan Davis (Pope Hayward), Madison Bailey (Chiara Carrera), and Carasia Grant (Cleo Anderson) all gave insight into what fans can expect from their characters in the second half of Season 4 The team gave insight on the following. And according to Davis, viewers should prepare for a cacophony of “explosions, madness, and Pogue activity.”
As you may remember, spoilers ahead! -Last time, Davis' Pope was trapped in the catacombs of an old church in Charleston with Sarah in search of Blackbeard's treasure. Davis says the teens will still be in the catacombs when Season 4 resumes. 'Hopefully, we'll find a solution to that problem. A lot has happened and a lot of facts have come to light in the cliffhanger, and those will continue to be explored.”
Another major cliffhanger going into the second half of Season 4 concerns the identity of JJ Maybank, who in Episode 5 discovered that Luke, the abusive man he has always believed to be his real father, is not actually his father. His real parents were the late Larissa Jennett and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crain), and the proud Pogue is officially a wealthy kook. Pankow told the magazine about how this fact will affect JJ in the final episode of the season, saying Who am I? Where do I stand? What kind of person am I now? Will my friends criticize me? And who do I respect now? I guess that's how it's going to play out from here on out.”
