Fubo is known for offering more sports than any live TV streaming service. And now they are making it easier than ever for cord cutters to stream sports and streaming services without cable.

Yesterday (October 22), Fubo announced the launch of its new standalone streaming services. These services (including Paramount Plus with Showtime and NBA League Pass) will be available to anyone without a Fubo subscription.

Now, this does not mean that these services are free. Fubo's cheapest plan is the Pro plan at $80/month.

This also means that one of Fubo's biggest selling points is available without requiring a Fubo channel plan.

Among the best cable alternatives we tested, Fubo is the best at providing access to Regional Sports Networks (RSNs). These RSNs offer local games of NBA, NHL, and MLB teams to the market and are often off of live TV services such as YouTube TV due to regional sports network fees.

YouTube TV promises not to charge hidden fees, but does not want to charge hidden fees. So instead, they choose not to offer these RSNs in the first place.

However, if you subscribe to YouTube TV in markets where RSN airs the majority of home team games, you can subscribe to FanDuel Sports Network (formerly Bally Sports Network) as Fubo's standalone service. You get your cake and eat it too, and Fubo gets you as a customer that they couldn't get any other way. Everyone benefits.

There's a catch for now: only FanDuel Sports Network is offered as an independent subscription. That means if you have NBC Universal RSN, MASN, NESN, etc., you are out of luck for now. But for those like me who live in the FanDuel Sports Network RSN market, this is a big win.

Based on this, it seems that if you sign up for the standalone service, you can also use Fubo Free, which offers nearly 200 FAST channels.

Unfortunately, we could not find a way to sign up for the stand-alone premium subscription service at this time. However, once this is fully rolled out, it should be possible to sign up directly from Fubo.
