“High Potential” was a surprise hit for ABC this fall. The crime drama stars Caitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mother who works as a janitor for the Los Angeles Police Department. She has an extremely high IQ, and when she finds a mistake during an investigation one night while cleaning, she quickly corrects it and starts her shift over.
Her quick corrections catch the attention of LAPD Detective Kaladek (Daniel Sunjata) and Captain Serena (Judy Reyes). Kaladek is furious, but Selena recognizes her high potential and hires Morgan as a consultant. Watch the first season now

In the vein of classic sitcoms like “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation,” the show also uses a mockumentary format for its 22-minute episodes. And it succeeds admirably. Through its first three seasons, “Abbott Elementary” has received 24 Emmy nominations and won four, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for lead actress Kinta Branson.
In “Abbott Elementary,” Branson plays Janine Tiegs, a second-grade teacher at the underfunded Abbott Elementary School in Philadelphia. She also always looks on the bright side of things, which is shocking since she has to support Philadelphia's sports teams year after year after year. If you like classic sitcoms, this show is a must-see.
