The iPhone SE is beloved by a significant percentage of iPhone fans, thanks to its small size and low price for Apple However, as with the iPhone 13, there is still much we don't know about what such a phone will look like
Thanks to a new rendering from YouTube concept creator 4RMD, we have a little idea of what we can expect from the iPhone SE 3
4RMD's iPhone SE mockup includes some of the features we've come to expect from the new iPhone The display is 53 inches, larger than the current iPhone SE's 47 inches, but not as large as the iPhone 12 mini The video also touts Touch ID and Face ID, as well as physical buttons for enhanced security In our opinion, this model is similar to the iPhone XR in many ways, but the iPhone XR lacks the notch
The current iPhone SE comes in black, white, and red This video imagines that will continue, but adds a gold version to the mix
Another difference from the current iPhone SE is that this model may have two rear cameras It will also have the same A14 Bionic chip as the iPhone 12 lineup This is not a huge leap in logic Previous iPhone SE models have been powered by current Apple-designed processors, which only increases their appeal
Even if there are changes, 4RMD expects the iPhone SE 3 to remain priced at $399 That may be the most important factor of all; reports of poor sales of the iPhone 12 mini suggest that some shoppers are not looking for a smaller screen, but rather a lower price for a generally more expensive Apple product
It is unclear whether another iPhone SE is in the works at Apple, which never discusses a phone release in advance Some analysts had expected a successor to the iPhone SE to arrive this year, but rumors late last year suggested that it would be in late 2021, if at all
More recently, Apple Insider reports that it will likely be released in the first half of 2022 Just as we don't know when we should expect the iPhone 13 this year, we have no idea if the iPhone SE is likely to appear at all The best we can do now, as with many upcoming technology products, is sit back and wait to see what comes out at a later date
