Usually, Samsung Galaxy S21 leaks are secretly shared by inside sources, at high risk to their job security Sometimes, however, they can be obtained simply by calling Samsung and asking
Android Authority was thus able to get a pretty big scoop When we called the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru, one of the largest Samsung stores in India, the staff there was surprisingly helpful They confirmed the January 14 date on the Galaxy S21, along with the color and camera information
January 14 is the date the phone will be unveiled and will go on sale worldwide on January 22 At least at this Samsung store, pre-orders are now being accepted, and you can get in line by paying a deposit
The Samsung store also confirmed that the S21 model in India uses the Exynos 2100 chip The US version of the Galaxy S21 will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset, while users in other countries will receive Samsung's new flagship chipset
The store also revealed the colors that will be available for each of the three Galaxy S21 models The base S21 will be available in Gray, Pink, Purple, and White; the S21 Plus in Pink, Purple, Silver, and Black; and the S21 Ultra in Black and Silver
According to the Samsung Store, the S21 and S21 Plus reportedly share the same trio of cameras: a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera (3x zoom) The S21 Ultra has a 108MP main camera, 12MP ultra wide, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 10MP 10x telephoto, a more powerful camera
The same can be said for the S21 series' displays: both the S21 and S21 Plus have FHD panels with 120Hz refresh rate support, the former at 62 inches and the latter at 67 inches The S21 Ultra is slightly larger, has a higher QHD resolution, and uses LTPO technology to enable adaptive refresh rates rather than fixed refresh rates of up to 120 Hz
The currently confirmed January release date is earlier than the S20, which was announced in February of this year There are rumors about the reason for this, that Samsung is trying to prevent sales from being lost to models like the iPhone 12
