The Pixel4a5G image just leaked just before launch — here's your best look yet

It seems the secret Google has been saving for the September 30 event is no longer a secret We've already seen the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G from multiple angles and in multiple shades, and we've pored over leaked spec sheets However, UK retailer John Lewis & Partners has released the clearest renderings to date of the Pixel 4a 5G

Interestingly, these images came to us via 9to5Google and are actually associated with the standard, 58-inch Pixel 4a on John Lewis & Partners' site However, the dual-lens rear camera (the standard Pixel 4a has only one optics) and the 5G label on the status bar of these mockup phones indicate a larger 5G model

Aside from the larger 62-inch panel and a second camera that appears to be a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, the Pixel 4a 5G looks almost exactly like the smaller Pixel 4a, down to the polycarbonate design, matte black finish, and playful lavender power button

The Pixel 4a 5G may actually be available in white or mint colors, based on listings on other retailers' sites, although it is not 100% certain what the optional shades will be Google was reportedly planning to launch a blue variant of the $349 Pixel 4a, but ultimately decided against it, likely due to production setbacks in the early days of the global pandemic

The Pixel 4a 5G is almost certain to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset, as well as 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a battery of just under 3,900mAh It will have an OLED display, but probably not a 90Hz or 120Hz fast refresh panel As Google has already confirmed, the Pixel 4a 5G will be priced at $499

The Pixel 4a 5G is expected to offer the same camera quality as Google's previous Pixel phones, as it will likely have the same 122MP main camera that Google has used in its devices for years

We expect this sensor to be enhanced with the latest computational imaging know-how derived from machine learning, such as Night Sight, Super Res Zoom, and Live HDR

With less than a week to go until Google's big day, we are anxious to see what other information will pop up between now and September 30
