Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Leaks reveal specs and Images - and 1 nasty Surprise

The latest Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leaks reveal some promising new features and upgrades, but it also appears to be a major step backward in terms of design

A host of newly confirmed details have been revealed by German site WinFuture, and a rendering by Evan Blass on Twitter helps paint a more detailed picture of the Galaxy Note 20WinFuture is a Samsung the same source that leaked the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs, and has revealed a series of details about the larger Note 20 phone

Unfortunately, WinFuture has not revealed any details about the Note 20's price other than that it will be cheaper than the Note 20 Ultra; given that the Galaxy Note 10 sells for $950, the Note 20 will probably be similarly priced

The three colors of the Galaxy Note 20 that can be seen in these renderings are Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray, and Mystic Green Bronze is also available on the Note 20 Ultra, but the gray and green options are unique to this model

The plastic back is also unique to this model, as opposed to the glass back on the Note 20 Ultra It is quite unusual for a phone of this price to have a plastic back, and hopefully this will not result in the standard Note 20 feeling cheap and poorly made

The exact dimensions of the Note 20 are 1616 x 752 x 83 mm, which translates to 636 x 296 x 03 inches This is considerably larger than the Note 10, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on how much you prefer the size of your phone

As for cameras, the Note 20 has a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP 3x hybrid zoom (up to 30x) camera on the back However, there is no sign of the rumored time-of-flight sensor, and the device may struggle when it comes to special photo effects like bokeh

The Note 20's single front camera is a 10MP sensor, centered in a punch-hole notch; the Note 20 can also shoot 8K video, with a maximum frame rate believed to be 30 FPS

The Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 20 is quite large, measuring 67 inches across However, the FHD (2400 x 1080) resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate are not as exciting as the QHD resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate that the Note 20 Ultra is expected to achieve The Note 20 Ultra will also have a dynamic refresh rate for better battery life The Note 20 Ultra is also expected to feature an LTPO display with dynamically adjustable refresh rate for better battery life

For European buyers, WinFuture has confirmed that the Note 20 will use the Exynos 990 chipset For US customers, the Snapdragon 865 Plus is expected to be used in the Note 20, as Samsung typically uses Qualcomm chips in the US version of its phones [As for memory and storage, the only options are 8GB RAM and 256GB, respectively While this should be sufficient for everyday tasks, there is no MicroSD card expansion option in case you run out of space

Unlike the Note 20 Ultra, the Note 20 comes in 4G and 5G versions Hopefully, that means an even lower starting price, great for potential buyers on a tight budget However, as a trade-off, once countries around the world get their 5G networks up and running, the 4G Note 20 will feel outdated faster than the other models

To provide power, the Note 20 has a 4,300 mAh battery that can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes with wired charging Wireless and reverse wireless charging are also supported, allowing users to draw power from the charging pad and return power to compatible accessories such as Galaxy buds [The Note 20 Ultra has a 4,500 mAh battery that surpasses the Note 10's 3,500 mAh battery

The standard Note 20 S Pen is advertised to have a latency of 26 ms While this is not as fast as the Note 20 Ultra's expected latency of 9 milliseconds, it should still be able to write and draw with no noticeable delay between the action and its detection

You also get an optimized experience for Xbox's xCloud In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Note 20 users will be able to play more than 90 games through Microsoft's cloud game streaming service This promises to enhance the value of the phone as an entertainment and gaming device

A new wireless version of DeX is also available; DeX is Samsung's desktop-style interface for the Galaxy Note series Being able to use this without cables would make it easier to connect the Note 20 to a display or projector

Samsung plans to show off the Note 20 at an August 5 event According to other rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Watch 3, and Galaxy Tab S7 will also be unveiled at this event, making this possibly one of Samsung's most exciting events to date We will be covering all of Samsung's Unpacked news live, so check out Tom's Guide
