iPhone13 may miss this major camera upgrade

Apple's iPhone 13 may not be the major upgrade some are expecting when it arrives in 2021 Recent leaks have suggested significant changes to the phone's camera setup for next year, but a now-popular Apple tipster called it into question

Jon Prosser now claims that what we thought about the iPhone 13 was incorrect His tweet was in response to an article reported by MacRumors based on a tweet by leaker choco_bit, which claimed it has a design for the phone's rear camera block We already knew that reliable leaker OnLeaks did not take this leak well, but Prosser's statement makes it even less credible

The claim by choco_bit indicated that there would be five sensors on the back of the iPhone 13 That array will consist of the main camera from the iPhone 11 Pro, an ultra-wide camera, an upgraded version of the telephoto camera, a LiDAR sensor from the new iPad Pro, and an anamorphic camera for recording video in different aspect ratios

Prosser himself has been on notice that he has information about the iPhone 13 It is therefore interesting that he weighs his own claims According to him, the iPhone 13 will look like the iPhone 12, which is widely rumored to feature a square camera bump similar to the iPhone 11 series So we may not see this fifth camera after all, or the numerous other upgrades to resolution and magnification described in the original choco_bit tweet

It is also worth noting that Prosser refers to the iPhone 13 as the "12S" in his tweet Apple has historically made major changes to its phones every two years, releasing an "S" model with minor upgrades in between Due to the number of rumored changes, it appears that the iPhone 11S will be skipped this year, but will probably return to Apple's slow-paced upgrade schedule in 2021

So while it is still very unclear what the iPhone 13 (or 12S) will look like, we have seen plenty of iPhone 12 rumors and leaks when it arrives in September, it will come in four different models in three sizes, all with OLED displays, 5G connectivity, and the new A14 chipset

For the iPhone 12 Pro, it is rumored that a LiDAR sensor will be added to the main/ultrawide/telephoto combination seen on the iPhone 11 Pro and that the display refresh rate could be 120 Hz
