The first Samsung Galaxy phone with a pop-up camera just leaked

According to newly posted concept designs, Samsung's future Galaxy A series phones will likely feature a pop-up camera

Accessory sites Pigtou and OnLeaks have collaborated to show a currently unidentified Samsung phone with a pop-up selfie camera mechanism Based on the fingerprint sensor on the back and a number of leaks claiming that future S series phones will continue to use punch holes, this is most likely a Galaxy A series phone

Alongside the pop-up camera and rear fingerprint sensor, renders do show a triple camera array on the back, curved edges on the back instead of the display, and a headphone jack

Pop-up cameras were popular last year on phones such as the OnePlus 7 Pro and Oppo Reno 10x Zoom The 2019 Samsung Galaxy A80, on the other hand, uses a sliding and rotating mechanism to transform the rear camera into a front-facing camera when needed This could replace the model in the rendered image, as it is the highest-specification model in the Galaxy A series that already has a motorized camera

Samsung's flagship smartphone solves the front camera problem with an "Infinity-O" punch hole display However, the technology needed to make this is more expensive than a pop-up camera and still occupies little space on the display The pop-up mechanism makes the phone significantly heavier and contains more mechanical parts that can fail, but allows for a true full-screen design

It is difficult to know how accurate this is, as there is very little information about this phone, including its lack of identity beyond being a Samsung device However, we can at least hope that it means that Samsung customers will soon be able to enjoy a mid-range phone display without a large notch or bezel
