iPhone12 leak reveals big design upgrade - Meet the mini Notch

The iPhone 12 notch design was leaked on Twitter Yes, it's still there, but it should be the smallest ever thanks to Apple moving parts around

Apple insider Jon Prosser tweeted two images showing what the notch on the next iPhone will look like The major change to note here is that the speaker, currently located in the center of the iPhone 11's notch, has been moved out of the phone's upper bezel

This move allows Apple to significantly reduce the width of the notch and regain much needed space for the display

Looking at this design, one might wonder where the microphone will fit This is what some Twitter users asked Prosser, who replied that it is built into the speaker, but he did not annotate it as such He explained, "Focus is primarily trying to label the hardware in the notch"

The bad news for some would be that Apple is still stuck on the notch This makes some sense, since no matter what some fans demand, they have no intention of dropping Face ID on their flagship iPhones; the TrueDepth 3D camera required for Face ID is not likely to shrink that easily

Android flagship users are likely to see companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo working on under-display selfie cameras, eliminating the need for a notch or bezel on the front of the phone altogether, and small waterdrop or punch hole notch phones have been available for several years Now that they are available, they are probably gloating to themselves

For iPhone fans, however, this new design would be progress: this is the first major change to the front of the iPhone since the iPhone X in 2017, and the only external difference between subsequent models is the size of the device Therefore, the iPhone 12 looks like an upgrade from previous models, which could be as important as the actual improved features added to the handset

The iPhone 12 design is rumored to change in other ways as well, with flatter sides and an overall thinner body It should look more like the iPad Pro 2020

Aside from this reduced notch, the iPhone 12 is rumored to come in four different models (two standard and two Pros), with the smallest model being a slender 54" and the largest at 67" All displays are also expected to be OLED, with a 120 Hz refresh rate in the Pro version

On the back, a fourth sensor in the form of a LiDAR depth sensor is expected to join the Pro's existing three cameras, and inside will be a 5G modem and a new A14 Bionic CPU to keep things running smoothly

As far as we know, there are no major delays that would affect the iPhone 12's launch, and it will likely debut around September of this year However, according to one rumor, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be delayed to October to compensate for the extended testing period
