Now that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series is almost in users' hands, attention is turning to Samsung's next big project, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20
A series of high-profile leaks and bits and pieces of information about the device have been released over the past few weeks, and it appears that the Note 20 may feature a state-of-the-art curved screen, 5G capabilities, and an updated S Pen
This latest leak reveals what could be the final design of the Note 20 A sketch of a smartphone case that is believed to be on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 was leaked by Samsung leaker Fan Long on Chinese social media site Weibo
It shows the case with a power button and volume rocker on one side This could lend credence to the rumor, revealed by several leaked Samsung patents, that the power and volume buttons are peeking through the curved "waterfall" screen If so, the sides of the case would need to be transparent in order for the smartphone to properly show off its curved screen
Otherwise, the case would have room for a rectangular module on the back, and Samsung is going all out for an S20-style module in the Note series We're betting that the standard-format Note 20 will feature a camera setup comparable to Samsung's Galaxy S20 Plus, if not the powerful S20 Ultra
Just by looking at the "negative space" on the case and imagining what might (or might not) fit there, one can read an amazing amount about the phone The volume rocker and power button are in the same location as on the Note 10, and there are no functional buttons on the right side
However, the camera gap on the back of the case is much larger, and given the design of Samsung's new flagship, it is not hard to imagine that a larger camera module would fit there to bring the Note series into line with the S20 model
One of the main reasons this case sketch from Samsung appears to be for the Note 20 is on the bottom of the case The large gap in the bottom right appears to be for the redesigned S Pen, and is just where it might fit on the Note 20 The bottom also has a microphone, speaker grille, and holes for USB-C compatible connections
This is an exciting development that allows us to begin to visualize how the phone is taking shape However, it must be emphasized that the phone is not expected until July at the earliest, and this is just one of many possible designs at this stage Take the information with a grain of salt, but this is the best we have at this point
If the S20 series is any indication, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is going to be one hell of a phone (or "phablet," depending on how big this model chooses to be) We can't wait for its official unveiling later this year
