First Pixel 5 leak shows off polarized design for Google's new flagship

Nine months before Google announced the Pixel 5 smartphone series, an official prototype was already out in the world And it is not what anyone expected

The leak comes via YouTube's Front Page Tech and centers on a camera stack on the back of what appears to be the Pixel 5 XL Jon Prosser, who runs the channel, is confident in his sources regarding this rendered image and says in the video that he is "999 percent" certain that this image is the official prototype that Google is currently considering

The device in the image has a matte glass texture similar to some colors of the Pixel 4 and incorporates a very large triple-lens module, including a wide-angle shooter, protruding from the top back of the device

According to Front Page Tech, this rendering is one of three prototype designs Google has proposed for the 2020 Pixel 5 phone Google's engineering team is known to produce several variations of its evolving flagship before materializing its final form

In other words, there is no guarantee that this is what the Pixel 5 XL will look like With about nine months until the typical release window for Mountain View, we are still too far from the release of the lineup to assume that Google has settled on this or any design

Interestingly, this particular photo only shows the back of the Pixel 5 XL, but Front Page Tech says they have seen the front, and according to Prosser, yes, there is still a forehead bezel

It's still early days for leaked information on the Pixel 5, but the Pixel 4a, the successor to Google's lower-priced Pixel 3a that was introduced last year, is probably very close to making its debut
