Samsung Galaxy S21FE price leak claims it's stay the same - it's bad news

Further pricing information for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has been leaked, suggesting that while the price will not be higher, the phone is not as good a bargain as its predecessor

91Mobiles, working with leaker Ishan Agarwal, has allegedly discovered the UK price of Samsung's new entry-level flagship phone According to the report, it will sell for £699 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and an 8GB/256GB version for £749

The £699 price is the same as the price of the 5G version of the Galaxy S20 FE when it was launched in the UK; the 4G version was also priced at £599, but there are no rumors that Samsung will make a cheaper 4G version of the S21 FE

This price is consistent with another recent leak from Samsung's Irish website While a price of €769 in US dollars seems like bad news, it is actually also the same as the Euro-denominated selling price of last year's Galaxy S20 FE This alone does not tell us anything about the price in the US, but it seems increasingly likely that Samsung will keep the base price of the S21 FE at $699, the same as last year, and add an even more expensive version on top of that

That sounds good on paper, but the problem now is that keeping the price the same could undermine the S21 FE's credentials as a value buy and one of the best Android phones When the Galaxy S20 FE came out, it was £200/$300 cheaper than the standard Galaxy S20, making it a worthwhile compromise for those on a limited budget; the S21 starts at $799/£769, and that gap has narrowed significantly if you feel the S21 is too expensive, 699 USD/£699 like the previous version, the S21 FE won't be much better

It is not certain how much Samsung's new flagship phone, the Galaxy S22, will cost If it is the same price as the S21's successor, users will have no reason to bother buying the S21 FE, although there are rumors of a price increase for the S22 Hopefully these cases leaked by Samsung Hungary will not be too expensive

Internally, the S21 FE apparently strongly resembles the original S21 It includes a similar design with a "contour-cut" rear camera bump that runs the phone using either a Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chip However, the size will be new, likely to be 64 inches, halfway between the 62-inch S21 and 67-inch S21 Plus, with an all-plastic back and sides and new color variations

The S21 FE is expected to launch in January 2022, perhaps a year after the S20 FE launched in October, and the phone was expected to arrive early this year However, due to component shortages and manufacturing issues, the release date continues to be pushed back and we may not see the Galaxy S22 launch until February
