As confirmed at this year's Xbox and Bethesda showcase at E3 2021, the new Forza Horizon 5 will be released on the Xbox Series X and S on November 9, 2021 As expected, the game will be an Xbox exclusive and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the day of release
According to Mike Brown, principal game designer at Playground Game, "Forza Horizon 5" will be the largest and "most beautiful Forza open-world game to date" In order to faithfully recreate Mexico, the "Forza" developers even shot real Mexican landscapes in HDR for 24 hours to use as the foundation for the in-game environments
The stunning in-game footage shows players cruising through a variety of Mexican landscapes, including cities, beaches, deserts, canyons, and rainforests, either alone or with friends
According to Brown, "Forza Horizon 5" will introduce "Forza Link," a cooperative assistant that will help players form cooperative teams by sharing objectives and GPS directions during expeditions
Xbox's E3 presentation also offered a glimpse of some of the vehicles that will appear in the new game, including the Off-Road Dune Buggy, the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE Forza edition, and the iconic Mitsubishi Lancer
"Forza Horizon 5" features several game modes, including a story campaign and a battle royale mode called "The Eliminator" Additionally, drivers can compete in a team-based game mode called "Pinata Pop," in which they must stomp as many pinatas as possible within a certain amount of time
Playground Games also confirmed that "Forza Horizon 5" will feature "Stadium," a game mode that allows players to design their own mini-games by modifying the rules and creating their own custom maps using in-game assets The company also confirmed that "Stadium" will be a game mode that will allow players to design their own mini-games This appears to be a remix of similar ideas found in GTA Online
