The ring's newest camera provides a 360° view up, down, left, and right

Ring is catching up to the competition, and while rivals like Eufy and Wyze are producing pan and tilt capable security cameras, Ring's just announced pan and tilt indoor cam is a first for a major smart home DIY security system manufacturer Ring's pan and tilt indoor cam is still exciting, as they manufacture some of the best security cameras we've tested What's more, it comes with a manual privacy cover that turns off audio and video when placed over the camera's lens

The camera sits on a motorized base that allows the camera to tilt 169° up and down and pan 360° left and right The pan/tilt indoor cam can be controlled via touch screen controls within the Ring app Simple directional arrows can be used to point the HD camera up, down, left, or right Color night vision makes it easy to see details at night

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam (black or white) is available for pre-order today on Ringcom and Amazoncom for $7999 and will begin shipping on May 30, 2024 The Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam and Indoor Cam ( 2nd Gen) will both be available soon in Ring's new colors Blush, Charcoal, and Starlight

You can expect standard Ring security camera features such as live view, two-way calling, and real-time motion alerts This is a double-edged sword, as like other Ring cameras, a subscription starting at $499/month is required to save video clips, receive smart subject notifications, and automate the Home & Away mode

Keep in mind that the Ring camera does not support local storage and you will need to pay a subscription fee to save video clips This will be a serious challenge against our current favorite pan-tilt camera, the Eufy S350 Indoor Cam, which we praised in our review of the Eufy S350 for its rich 4K images, local storage, free AI smart alerts and quick response time However, the lack of color night vision is disappointing I'm eager to put these two pan-tilt cameras head-to-head whenever I get my hands on Ring's latest model and see how they stack up against one of the best home security cameras out there
