"The Emoji Movie" is sweetly placed at the bottom of my list of animated films I'd recommend to others, but my kids can't get enough of this movie So it's at least worth shouting out that it was released on Netflix this week

The film is exactly what it sounds like: a film about anthropomorphic emojis who live inside smartphones Each plays a specific role, but one (voiced by TJ Miller) finds himself able to create multiple facial expressions Determined to become "normal" like the other emojis, he travels to other applications with the help of his friends and uncovers a danger that could threaten the very existence of their world
